Over the past couple years, I have worked very hard to bring a literacy-focused AmeriCorps program to Cleveland, Ohio called Northeast Ohio Literacy Corps. We join other local programs like CityYear Cleveland, VISTA, and Cleveland Scholarship Program as local beneficieries of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). With the latest legislation, funding for CNCS is under negotiation.
Dear readers and friends, I ask you for the sake of this successful program, please take a few minutes this week to SPEAK UP NOW. Let your legislators know you want to continue funding for the Corporation for National and Community Service.
